Assumptions
- The integration can generate critical and recovery alerts for the following failure scenarios when App Failure Notifications are enabled in the integration settings:
- Connectivity Exception
- Authentication Exception
- The integration sends any duplicate/repeat failure alert notification for every six hours.
- Metrics can be used to monitor Dell Unity XT resources and can generate alerts based on the threshold values.
- Component level thresholds can be configured on each resource level.
- The Template Applied Time is displayed only if the collector profile (Classic or NextGen Gateway) is running version 18.1.0 or above.
- The minimum supported version for the option to get latest snapshot metrics and complete discovery is NextGen Gateway version 15.0.0.
- Dell Unity XT supports both Classic Gateway and NextGen Gateway.
Limitations
- The integration cannot control monitoring pause/resume actions based on the above alerts.
- The integration does not provide activity logs.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure all prerequisites are met.
- If the Dell Unity XT integration fails to discover or monitor, perform the following troubleshooting steps:
- Check for alerts generated on the Dell Unity XT System, gateway, or any error logs in vprobe.
- To identify API accessibility issues or specific failures, such as end device connectivity or authentication, verify the reachability of the end device from the gateway using the following commands:
- Use
ping [IP Address]
to test connectivity. - Use
telnet [IP Address] [port]
to test port access. - If further assistance is needed, contact the Support Team to verify API accessibility using either the SDK App Debug Command Center (available depending on gateway version 18.1.0 and app support) or DiscoveryandMonitoring-TargetAPIResponses.
- If there are no connectivity or authentication issues, refer to the SDK App Debugging process and contact the Support Team for additional assistance.
